This recipe is from my aunt from island Cres. It’s one of the best I ever had. Very easy recipe with few ingredients you probably already have at home.


  • 1 yogurt (200 gr)
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 14 tbsp flour
  • 1 apple
  • 1 baking powder (13 gr)
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 1 vanilla sugar (10 gr)
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 liter vegetable oil
  • Powdered sugar

For sauce:

  • 2 dcl whipping cream
  • 50 gr dark chocolate
  • 50 gr white chocolate

Pour oil into pot and heat it on a medium heat. Beat eggs and both sugars for about 5 minutes.



In another bowl sift flour and baking powder and stir. Add yogurt into egg mixture, mix little and add flour mixture. Add grated lemon zest, peeled and grated apple and rum. Mix everything well.


When oil reaches right temperature ( toothpick test ),use your teaspoon to grab the batter and carefully put fritters in oil. Fry them until light browned on each side.

Take them out on a paper towel and make sauce.

For white sauce, chop white chocolate. Bring 1 dcl of whipping cream almost to boil and pour over chocolate. Let it rest for 30 sec and stir well.

For dark sauce procedure is the same just replace white with dark chocolate. Add little rum or some other aroma in your sauces for even more richer taste.


Or you can eat it regular just covered with powdered sugar.
