I came across some beautiful plums on the market and decided to make plum strudel. It is very easy to make especially if you use store bought puff pastry. Of course it is nothing compared to the home made, but this time I decided to make things a little simpler and quicker. This strudel just bursts with flavor. Butter, cinnamon and vanilla are always a great combination.




  • 250gr puff pastry
  • 650 gr plums
  • 200 gr sugar
  • 70 gr butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of cloves
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract


For cream:


  • 500 ml heavy cream
  • Plum sauce
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 2 pack of stabilizer for whipping cream (1 pack = 10 gr)


Wash plums and pit them. Put them in a cooking pot along with butter, sugar, cinnamon and cloves.


Cook for about 5-10 minutes until tender. Remove from heat, add vanilla and let it cool.


Preheat oven to 200°C

Roll the dough (approx. 40 x 47cm).


Arrange plums with a bit of sauce and fold the side edges over just a bit to secure the filling.


Lift the upper edge to cover half of the dough, then carefully cover it with bottom edge.

Grease oven casserole with a bit of butter and place strudel in it. Prick the dough with fork and put it in the oven.


Bake for 30 minutes.


For cream, mix together all the ingredients and put it in the fridge until ready to serve.
